An invention idea by Linda Beaton at Ocean Arts, for people with learning disabilities.
“Headphones with glitter balls and flashing lights.” Linda Baton
Linda met with Brian Deggar and discussed her idea in more detail. Brian then made a working version.
“The client wanted headphones that could be used to listen to disco music. This has been a challenge as there is no easy way to detect beats from audio using micro-controllers. However, in the spirit of the invention, the lights go on in time to a standard “four on the floor” disco beat. This at 120 beats per minute, with light changes on each second beat. The invention uses a micro-controller and rings of leds, that can be reprogrammed in order to match the clients music.” Brian Deggar
